Based on what is happening in the American legal system Dr. Martin Luther King Junior’s Dream has not been realized. Statistics indicate that whites, in general, tend to believe there is very little racism in America, but blacks believe that there is lots of racism in America. There is a great divide between blacks and whites on social and legal issues.   The Center for Family Policy and Practice Statistics indicates that the United States Justice System appears to have two systems, one for whites and one for blacks. The small number of people of color holding judgeships affects the justice system. Other reasons rest with discrimination, money, and influence. Unfortunately, there are no easy solutions to the racial challenges in the criminal justice system. In an ideal judicial system, the only thing that should matter is fairness, justice, and the law; money, status, image, and power should not matter.
